Yes. Ludo is play-based, child-led and neurodiversity-affirming. We follow your child’s interests and build learning into play they choose. We don’t try to change who your child is. We focus on skills that make life easier and happier for your child and your family, like communicating, handling big feelings and everyday routines. Your family helps choose every goal.
No. Stimming is a natural way many kids regulate, focus and show joy, so it isn’t something we try to reduce. The one exception is a stim that causes your child harm. In that case, we’ll talk with you first and look for a safer way to meet the same need.
We listen. A “no” can be words, turning away, leaving the activity or getting upset, and all of it is communication. We pause, give space and try again another way, or move on to something else. We don’t push through distress or force participation. The only time we step in right away is to keep your child safe.
Never. Eye contact isn’t a goal at Ludo. Many kids listen and connect better without it, and we respect that.
No. Every way of communicating counts, including speech, AAC devices, picture cards, sign, gestures and pointing. We’ll support the way your child communicates best. If your family wants to work on speech, our sister practice, Thrive Speech Therapy (opens in a new tab), is right here too.
